Looks like it will be beautiful when done. I'm a beginning knitter, so I can only work with a super chunky yarn on large needles.

Who could be snobby about something named Moose Lace, it just sounds so... Canadian Chic =) Hope your second, well third technically, attempt goes much better than the last.

Using large circular needles reduced the upper body movement for me, but the hand movements are still a dance. This stole will probably be the end of my moose lace phase, LOL! I may dye, for a moment.

I can't account for the attitude toward knitting more open projects on big needles. I actually find it harder to knit on larger needles for all the cautionary reasons your cite here, and I would add one more: it seems to require more upper body movement and I find it more tiring. I'm sure there's an easier way but I haven't figured it out yet.

It'll be fun to see what it looks like when it's done!
